Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
In response to IE Bulletin 79-03, Longitudindl Weld Defects in ASME SA-312 Type 304 Stainless Steel Pipe Spools manufactured by Youngstown Welding and Engineering Company, dated March 12, 1979, Alabama Power Company submits the following response for both Units 1 and 2.
From a review of mill test reports it was determined that no SA-312 or other welded (without filler metal) pipe manufactured by Youngstown Welding and Engineering has been received on site, nor does Alabama Power Company plan on using any in the future.
