This is in response to your letter of March 18, 1979, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, access to records concerning the organization of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, health and safeguards standards, and "important" cases.
help you in your research. Enclosed, as listed in Appendix A, are various organization, functions, and program of the NRC. Items 1 and 2 provide info NRC standards are primarily of two types, Regulations and Regulatory Guides.
The regulations are included in Title 10, Chapter I, of the Cude of Federal Regulations, which should be available to you in a library in the Boston area, or may be purchased from the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C. 20402, for $5.00 NRC.
These Guides describe methods acceptable to the NRC staff for implementing specific parts of the NRC's regulations.
