BRIEFING ON POLICY CONCERNING DIFFERING PROFESSIONAL OPINIONS, (See SECY-78-575), 2:30 P.M., FRIDAY, NOVEM3ER 17,1978, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, D. C. OFFICE The Ccamission* was briefed on the NRC's general policies relating to differing professional opinions, including a discussion on existing policy with recard tc informing licensinc boards.
The CCT.F.ission noted that a proposed statement of NRC pciicy and procedures g
ccr.cerning differir.g professional opinions would be circulated for Commissien if eview in early 1979.
The Commission recuested that the statement include:

Procedures for assuring that a differing cpinicr will be forwarded, upon the request of the author, ever. if management concludes that it is not approcriate to do so; and b.
