Supplemental Information Regarding Vertent Yankee Off-Gas System Operation The purpose of this letter is to document verbal supplemental inforta-tion given to Messrs. Rooney and Lo of the USNRC and Mr. Hoza of Allied Checical on February 27, 1979, regarding the Vercont Yankee Off-Gas System. The informa-tion provided was in response to telecopied quest.ons received from Allied Chemical and was necessary to allow ce=pletion of the review of Reference (b).

Questions and answers were as follows:

Question No. 1 (per telecony):

"Is the rupture disc referred to in response 2 of reference 1* the one located just downstream of the after condenser following the second stage SJ.E as shown in reference 3?**

If not, where in the system is the rupture disc centioned in response 2 located?"

Response

There were two rupture discs installed in the off-gas system. The piping located downstream of the aftercondenser has been blanked off and the rupture disc recoved. The other rupture disc is located in a section of piping between the second stage air ejector and the recombiner preheater.

Question No. 2 (per telecopy):

"Is either high recombiner temperature or high flow downstream of the recombiner after condenser alarmed in the main control roon?"

Response

High recombiner tecperature, high flow downstream of the recombiner
