Item II. A in F. Rinal di's neno, requested that we determine if soil liquefaction is a credible event that would affect Midland's Category I structures.
In re,ponse, the following is provided:
Since the Midland Plant fill will be dewatered to El. 595' which is 15 feet below the elevation where loose sands with low bloucounts have been identified, there is no need for SED to consider the effects of liquefaction on " subject Category I structures."
1.'ith remrd to Item II.B, the geotechnical engineering staff has reviewed the soil springs used by the f.oplicant and has recorded the results of their review on a March 26, 1982 telephone record. Mr. Trank Rinaldi has been provided a copy of the telephone record and has also agreed to discuss the geotechnical engineering concern that renains for the appropriate soil sprinq to be used during the jacking loading condition on Thursday, April 1,1932 with the Consultants to both SEB and HGED.
