This refers to the telephone conversation between you and Mr. A. B. Davis of this office on August 1, 1980, regarding high radiation areas surrounding your radiography cell.
With regard to the matters discussed, we understand that you have undertaken or will undertake the following actions by August 7, 1980:
1.
Perform a detail radiation survey (worst case) of the gamma ray building with special attention given to the storage ledge in the adjacent casting sorting room together with the roof and transformer maintenance platforms.
2.
Shield and/or preclude access and establish appropriate controls over restricted areas in the casting sorting room and upon roof /
transformer platforms.
3.
Perform no radiography (including survey exposures) in the interim in such a manner as to create in any unrestricted areas radiation levels which, if an individual were continously present in the area, could result in his receiving a dose in excess of two millirem in any one hour.
If our understanding of the above is not correct, please contact us by telephone immediately.
