Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Systens Branch Requested Completion Cate: June 20,1974 Description of Request: Three Mile Island 1 - Spray Pump Motars Slow Starting Characteristics.
The Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Systems Branch has reviewed TAR f962, requested in the comorandum frca V. A. Moore on May 28,1974 to J. M. Hendrie. The results of the review are included in the enclosure.
We are not assured that the diesel generator as a power source, represents the worst case condition for starting the spray pump motors, as stated by the licensee. Other plant operations may prove more restrictive, therefore additional analysis, calculations and testing is required to assure that the subject motors will perform on the offsite power system.
