SECY-79-157A - APPROVAL 1F P OPOSED LICENSE TO EXPORT HIGH-ENRICHED URA!ilU. TO CANADA (APPLICATION XSNM01345,SECY-79-157)

This is to advise you that the Commissioners have reviewed the subject license to Transnuclear Inc.

The Commission (with four Commissioners concurring and Commissioner Bradford noting without objection) has accepted your recommendation to export to Canada 4.23 kilograms of uranium, enriched to 93.3% U-235, in the form of U 0 3

In connection with his concurrence, Commissioner Ahearne requested that the Department of State (DOS) be asked to provide facility attachment information for the Bruce Generating Stations.

He subsequently noted SECY-79-157B, which provided a status report on this matter, and has requested that the staff continue to seek follow-up information from DOS on the status of all facility attachments at Bruce.

The Office of International Programs was informed of this action by telephone on May 7, 1979.

It is requested that you provide notification of the inuance and delivery of this license to Transnuclear by c.o.b. May 10, 1979.
