Dear M;. Bivens:
This is in response to your letter dated March 19, 1979 in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, copies of all records of licensee event reports and NRC inspection reports on the NL Industries, Inc., Nuclear Division plant in Wilmington, Delaware.
In a telephone conversation on April 3,1979 with Ms. Ellen Whitlow of my staff, you indicated that you would agree to a delay in order to review and collect documents from Region I staff, who are presently involved with the activities at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2 Reactor.
NRC staff has now completed its review of the requested documents and copies are enclosed for the four NL Industries licenses at their Wilmington location (Nos. 07-3860-02, 07-3860-04, SUB-972 and SNM-1457).
For your information, NRC staff has infcrmed me that there are no Licensee Event Reports for NL Industries, Inc., nor are there reports of any unusual situations written in any format.
In addition, inspections are often performed without an inspection report being written.
In some cases, an NRC Form 591 was issued, and copies of such are enclosed.
Sometimes inspection field notes were prepartd and copies of these are also enclosed.
Copies of cor.respondence from Region I to the licensee, and copies of correspondence from the licensee, relating to inspection results are also enclosed.
