.;cvember 22, 1978 in 'elaukegan, Illinois, I testified on my preliminary findings about spent fuel heatup potentials in Ic2c-of-water accident (see transcript, pp. 219-231).

I pronised to do so, 'out I ind icated that I had a rs? ort I was working on on another matter that could delay the pr:piration of the report you requested from me (the calculations).
I did cay, and forgo t until I reviewed the trans c r ip t, that I could at least cend my no tes (worksheets) and that these could be easily followed.
- -:owev e r, I was istaken; the notes could not be followed at all; it would t3.ke a asll-written report to explain and present the calculations an'i discuss their significance.
My other report I was working on is finished ---a two-part, 600 page analysis of nuclear explosion hatards.of the SNR-300 fast breeder reac tor in Iaro72- -and an now tell into preparing the report you requested.
It may take me two aeeks to complete i t.*
I am working full tine on it and avoiding taking on any other cor_.itments that would interfere.
I did also telephone

Incidentally, Mr..:ech was kind enough to consent to ay tape recording the conversation--my oral report.
If you should reed a preview of my analysis, especially of my critical evaluation of the Sandia report " Spent Fuel Heatup Following Loss of ','ater During Storage" (S.C077-1371), I could supply you with the tape, and of course, a copy of the tape to ::r. Zech as well.
