99900267/79-01 NOTICE OF DEVIATIONS Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on January 3-5, 1979, it appears that one of your activities were not conducted in full accordance with NRC requirements as indicated below:
Criterion IV of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50 requires that measures shall assure that design basis, and other requirements which are necessary to assure adequate quality are suitably included or referenced in the docu-ments for procurement of material.
The QA Manual Section TT22-205, paragraph 2.2, states in part with regard to purchase order contents affecting quality, "Also purchase orders shall include a statement 'no weld repair permitted without prior approval by Tube Turns'."
Contrary to the above, purchase order Nos. 9816-P, 9818-P, 9828-P, and 8746-P, for purchase of plate materfuls, that were to be used to manufac-ture ASME Section III piping, did not include the statement "no weld repairs permitted without prior approval by Tut,' Turns."
