SUMMARY

OF MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 28, 1979 A meeting was held between NRC staff members, an NRC consultant, and representatives of the New England Power Company and their consultants.

The meeting was held in the NRC Bethesda offices on February 28, 1979.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the applicants' plan for the design of the NEP 1 & 2 revetment and structural backfill. A list of attendees is enclosed.

Summary of Meeting The NEP 1 & 2 SER states that the staff will require that the applicants submit, for review and approval, final revetment design and erosion protection information prior to construction of the riprap protected revetment.

In the February 28 meeting, we discussed the revetment design criteria, reference documents, and sample calculations. Based on the preliminary design information and on the discussions held, the applicants will submit a report on revetment design for staff review.

The NEP 1 & 2 SER also states that the applicants will submit a special report on backfill for staff review prior to the start of construction.

In the February-28 meeting, the applicants discussed an outline of this report. Based on the outline and the discussions held, the applicants will continue to prepare and will submit the backfill report.
