j NOTE TO MR. SHAPAR I

Ths status of intervention for Indian Point 3 is as follows:

i 1.

Mary Ucfs Weik has filed a petition which in essence alleges concern for herself from radio-logical consequences from routine and accident releases.

2.

Harold Creen has advised us tnat he will file a petition for leave to intervene on behalf of Larry BoEart's group.

3.

The State of New York has edvised that it will file a petition for full inter 7r7 tion and that 1

its petition will not take a specific position because of internal problems with some State egencies (which are primarily related to the Bell Station rather than IP-3).

i As we agreed on the first two, assuming Crean makes out a proper case, we vould state at the prehearing conference that the staff does not object to the intervention as an exercise o# discretion, i

subject, of course, to the intervention being ilmited to matters of rcdiological health and safety and common defense and security, as we have done in past cases.

We would, of cour se, notoobject to the State's intervention.
