This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. E. Burgin of this office on May 19-29, 1980, of activities at your Rolla, Kansas City, Columbia and St. Louis campuses, including University-associated medical centers, authorized by NRC License No. 24-00513-32 and to the discussion of the findings with

.a in telephone conversation on June 2, 1980, with Mr. Burgin.

The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation saftri and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license.

The inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with personnel.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during the course of this inspection.

This inspection also included a review of actions taken to cor-rect the items of noncompliance identified during the partial it y ction of the Columbia campus on June 18-22, 1979. We have no further questions in regard to these matters.

JUN ! 1 000' The Curators of the University of Missouri This letter also references the telephone conversation on June 6, 1980 between Mr. Norm Sunderland of your staff and Messrs. C. J. Paperiello and R. E. Burgin of this office regarding the follow-up reports for two bioassays performed in 1980; specifically, a 0.11 pCi I-125 (rhyroid) on February 1, 1980, and a 0.046 pCi/ml tritium (from proton accelerator leak) on April 3, 1980. As per our discussion, this item shall remain unresolved pending our receipt of your follow-up evalua-tions of the above referenced bioassay results made pursuant to 10 CFR 20.103(b)(2).

We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
