Thank you for your letters of May 12 and 21, 1980, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the items of noncompliance identified in our letter of April 18, 1980. We will examine your corrective actions as part of our continuing investigative eftert.
With respect to a statement made in your May 12 letter, i.e., ".... a more comprehensive radiatiott survey and decontamination plan, H warranted, will be submitted...." (emphasis added), it should be understood that the more comprehensive survey is requiret in addition to the general survey which was to have begun on May 14, 1980.
A second point made in your May 12 letter, related to the use of respiratory protection equipment, also warrants comment. As discussed with you and mem-bers of your staff via telephone on May 15, 1980, it is our position that you cannot take credit for such equipment without an NRC approved program.
