e April tt, 1300 PRILIMINARY NCTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT -- PNS-IV-80-09 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national securirv or pubMn intercat significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluatio:t and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

SUBJECT:
BOV.B THREAT At 11:05 a.m. on April 22, 1980, the receptionist at Chntmel 2 TV, Baton Rouge, Iouisiana, received a telephone call as follows:
"Do you all vant so=e good news? Be at the nuclear plant site at 12:30 today and see a bo=b go off."
The receptionist reported that the voice was that of an adult male.
Channel 2 notified Gulf States Utilities. The oite was evacuated and a search was cade. Workers were permitted to leave without pay.
Previous bomb threats were made to the River Bend site on April 14 and 15,1980 (PNS-IV-80-06; PNS-IV-80-07).
The licensee notified the state police officials and the FBI.
RIV notified the ATT, the IAT, and the office of Co---issioner Kennedy by telephone on April 22, 1980.
No priass release was made or planned by the licensee or NRC.
The site construction progress is approximately 12%.
There is no SNM on site.
Thirf Preliminary Notification is issued for infor=ation only and no further action by ?E is anticipated. Region IV, Arlington, Texas, received notification of this ocettrence by telephone from the GSU construction Manager at approximately 1:30 p.m.
on April 22, 1980.
