Dear Sir:

Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) is in possession of five (5) pumps as described in IE Bulletin 79-15. N!PSCO's response to the requested informatirn is as follows:

1) NIPSCO has in storage five (5) " deep draft pumps" similar to those described in the bulletin. All five (5) pumps are intended for safety related applications, but have not been installed.
2) The intended plant applications, manufacturer, capacity and model are as follows:

3) The overall dimensions of each pump are as follows:

(Dimensions are from centerline discharge to ist stage impeller reference line)

RHR (3) 121.13" LPCS (1) 133.13" HPCS (1) 208.88"

4) Work on NIPSCO's Bailly Generating Station Nuclear I is presently halted and these pumps are in storage, therefore, no start up, testing or operational maintenance histories are available. The only maintenance performed to date has been normal storage maintenance to maintain these pumps in an "as new" condition.
5) Since these pumps are still in storage no operational problems and/or major repair efforts have been undertaken.
6) As indicated in response five (5), above, these pumps have experienced no operational history.

In response to the request that information be available at the plant site, NIPSCO maintains that information which would normally be available consi-dering the present status of the plant. This information is available for inspection.
