Dear Mr. Hall:
A preliminary copy of a draft regulation on fire protection is enclosed for your review. We request that you provide suggestions for additional items appropriate for inclusion in Appendix R.
Items to be considered for inclusion are those fire protection guidelines which would be univer-sally applicable to all nuclear power plants. Of particular interest are those items which, if included in the regulations, would resolve issues outstanding in our fire pm tection reviews. We reque'st that this prelimi-nary version of the draft regulation be telecopied to your consultants so that their recocrnendations can be transmitted to us by September 18, 1979.
A revision to this draft regulation will then be submitted for your fonnal review and conment on or about September 24, 1979.
