This refers to your applications dated Decenber 2,1977 and March 6,1979 requesting approval of Exxon Nuclear Cunpany's Quality Assurance (QA) programs to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 571.51.
As noted in these applications, Exxon has elected to utilize its QA program as described in XN-NF-439, Revision 1, for the design, fabrication,- assembly, testing, maintenance, repair, and modification of transportation packages.
In addition, the QA program, as described in XN-NF-1 A, will be used for the storage and shipping of transportation packages.
Since the staff has recently accepted a later revision to XN-NF-1 A, it is requested that Exxon reference Revision 2 to the QA topical report.
Please submit seven copies of your response to this request within 30 days fcllowing receipt of this letter.
