Dear Mr. Keppler:
In accordance with your request, the following information is provided in response to IE Bulletin No. 79-03 First, our balance of plant piping contractor has purchased no material from Youngstown Welding and Engineering Company (including any AS!G SA-312 type 304 & 316 stainless steel piping) for use on the Perry Project.
In addition, we have no plans of using ASME SA-312 type 304 pipe in safety-related systems at our facility.
Secondly, our USSS supplier's material specifications require that piping used in our safety-related systems be rolled and welded with filler material or be seat.less piping.
These material specifications do not permit the usage of type SA-312 piping for this application.
We conclude, therefore, that IE Bulletin 79-03 does not affect the Perry Project.
