NRC MONTHLY OPERA"ING REPORT Operating Summary - March,1979 Unit I The Unit load was reduced to approximately 85% reactor power on 3/3/79 due to feedwater heater ESB tube leaks. Repairs were made and the Unit was returned to full power on 3/4/79. On 3/6/79, at 2145 hours0.0248 days <br />0.596 hours <br />0.00355 weeks <br />8.161725e-4 months <br />, an auto-matic runback was initiated by the Control Rod Drive Control System due to an ir-limit indication on Group #4 CRAs. The indication was ftIse, as there .<as no rod nisalignment. Operations teminated runback at 91%

by taking manual control and overriding the automatic functions. The in-limit cleared and did not recur. The Unit was returned to full power operation and nomal operation continued until 3/18/79, when the P8A heater drain pump shaf t seal packing failed. The Unit load was reduced to 92%, repairs were made, and the Unit was returned to full power within six hours. The Unit operated throughout the remainder of tne month with-out incident.
