This letter constitutes our formal reply to the subject Inspection Report. It is our opinion that nothing in your report or in this reply constitutes any information of a proprietary nature.

Our response to the item of noncompliance identified in Appendix "A" of the report is as follows:

Corrective Action Taken and Results Achieved

1. An Inter-0ffice Memorandum (IOM) was issued by the Henry J. Kaiser Company Quality Assurance Manager on January 8,1979 to make it explicitly clear that the IOM of September 22, 1977 has been rescinded.

2. A meeting was held on January 8,1979 to explain the IOM of that date to those affected by it.

3. On February 16, 1979, the Henry J. Kaiser Company Quality Assurance Manager's active file of 10M's was reviewed to assure that there were not any additional IOM's outstand-ing which were in conflict with approved procedures. None were identified, and the results tf the review were ,
