~ Michael L. Glaser, Esquire Sheldon J. Wolfe, Esquire Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555 Re: Houston Lighting & Power Company South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2 (Docket Nos. 50-498A and 50-499A)
Gentlemen:
Pursuant to 10 CFR SS2.711(a) and 2.740b(b), the Cities of Austin and San Antonio, acting through and by the City Public Service Board of San Antordo, move the Board for an extension of the time in which to either respond or object to interrogatories and document requests of the Department of Justice.
On December 5,1978, the Department served the Cities of Austin and San Antonio with their First Set of Interrogatories and Requests for Production of Documents.
Their responses and objections are due on January 4,1979. The Cities of Austin and San Antonio move for an extension of time until January 15,1979.
As good cause for this motion, the Cities of Austin and San Antonio assert that these interrogatories and requests for production in part require investigation and file searches back to 1965. Due to the scope of the demands and the press of the holiday season, the Cities of Austin and San Antonio despite diligent efforts are unable to respond or object by January 4,1979. Austin and San Antonio anticipate that they will be able to do so by January 15.
The Department of Justice has no objection to this motion.
R ctfully submitted, e
