6414 Enclosed herewith is Amendment 57 to the Company's applicaticn for construction permits s.nd operating licenses, containing three (3) signed origint.ls and sixty (60) copies of Revision 17 to the Final Jafety Analysis Report.
Revision 17 of the FSAR contains updated FSAR material as detailed in the appli-cation page.
A significant portion of Revision 17 was provided early for staff review by my letter to you dated Jr.nuary la,1979 Revision 17 contains the information that was provided with that letter plus additional promised inforration the FSAR stated would be submitted in January 1979 In addition, there are enclosed five (5) copies e.lch of revised material to the following supplemental information furnished pursuant to Begulatory Guide 1.70, Revision 2:

57 Enclosed herewith, revising and supplementing the above-entitled application, are revised pages for incorporation in the Final Safety Analysis Report. The Final Safety Analysis Report was submitted with Amendment 33 to the above dockets on November 18, 1977 The enclosed =aterial consists of the folleving:
- 1) Responses to Staff Prsitions and Requests for Additional Information: Parts 1 and 2
- 2) Revision to Section 9 2.8 to add heat tracing to the BWST vent
- 3) Revision to Section o.3.3 to provide flow indication in each of the du=p-to-sump lines h) Revision to Section 5 2.5 to provide an alarm in the control roc = to detect reactor building level sump increases
- 5) Additional information the FSAR stated would be submitted at this time
- 6) Changes in various FSAR Sections resulting from routine design developments T) Reduction of the page size for selected 11" x 17" tables 8)
Correction of minor errors and omissions
- 9) Changes relating to the above (Tables of Contents, Figures, Tables, etc)
These new and revised pages bear the notation " Revision 171/T9", and are =arked in the margin to indicate where changes have been made. Additional pages and figures have been added as reflected on the revised Midland Plant FSAR " List of Effective Pages".
