Revised Accident Analyses.

Dear Mr. Grier:

The referenced letter reported that certain aspects of the accident analyses for the SNUPPS plants were possibly non-conservative. One of these aspects was the effect on calculated DNB ratios of fuel rod bowing. The reference stated that, at worst, slightly more restrictive limits on allowable power distribution may have to be imposed at the operating license stage of review because of rod bowing effects.

Pursuant to discussions with Mc. J. Mattia of your office on April 30, 1979, this letter confirms our plan to discuss and resolve matters associated with fuel rod bowing effects in the SNUPPS Final Safety Analysis Report.

Very truly yours, fVic Nicholas A. Petrick RLS:heg 2350 288 cc; Mr. James G. Keppler, Director, Region III, USNRC.

r. Karl V. Seyfrit, Director, Region IV, USNRC.
