Dear Mr. Chilk:
The NRC Staff requests a two-day extension of time to April 11, 1979, to file its memorandum pursuant to the Commission's Order of March 8, 1979.in the captioned proceeding. This request.is being made to you pursuant to your authority under 10 CFR 52.772.
An underestimate of the time required to complete the Staff filing, combined with the time demands of other priority matters in the office and the recent need tc essign an attorney previously unfamiliar with the alternate site issun in this proceeding to file the Staff response has resulted in the need for this request for extension of time. This request was not made earlier, because as late as Friday, April 6,1979, it was thought that the Staff response would be timely filed.
It is the Staff's belie? that no party will be prejudiced by this extension of time in view of the posture of this proceeding, including the absence of any ongoing facility construction.
