Dear Mr. Tierney:

As indicated in my letter of March 2,1979, we are planning to = u with members of the Michigan DNR to di cuss the NRC findings related to pre-operational / operational aquatic nonitoring program requirements for the Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant.

In that regard, I am enclosing for your staff's review two (2) additional items relative to the NRC evaluation of an aquatic monitoring program conducted by Detroit Edison in 1976.

At the request of the NRC, Detroit Edison Company conducted this program so as to assist the NRC staff in its assessment of the potential environ-mental impacts of a shoreline vs. offshore cooling tower blowdown discharge line.

We trust this information will prove useful to you prior to our forthcoming scheduled meeting on Monday, March 26, 1979.
