EXECUTIVE BRANCH RESPONSE ON PENDING EXPORT APPLICATION DATED 3/5/79, XSNM01386, LEU TO JAPAN
Purpose:
To inform the Commission of the above subject.
Discussion:
Enclosed for the information of the Commission are copies of the Executive Branch response on a pending export lic2nse application.
(See letter to Hoyle dated 10/31/78). Copies of the Executive Branch coments have been placed in the Public Document Room. A Comission Action Paper will be forwarded soon.
It is noted that this is a routine reload for Ikata Unit 1 which ordinarily could be approved at the staff level pursuant to 10 CFR 110.40(b)(2); however, this request will be forwarded for Coinmission review as

requested by Commissioner Bradford on December 8, 1978.
Comissioners are requested to advise the staff of any particular issues or information which they can identify at this stage and which they wish included in the staff's analysis.
