December 26, 1979 Trojan Nuclear Plant Docket 50-344 License NPF-1 Mr. R. H. Engelken, Director U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region V Suite 202, Walnut Creek Plaza 1990 N. California B1rd.

Walnut Creek, CA 94596

Dear Sir:

Nuclear Regulatory Commission IE Bulletin 79-28 identified certain NAMCO model EA180 limit switches manufactured between February 1979 and August 1979 that have the potential to malfunction. We have reviewed the use of NAMCO EA180-series switches in safety-related systems at the Trojan Nuclear Plant and have determined that none of the specified switches with the above code dates are presently in use nor planned for use.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely, C. Goodwin, Jr.

Assistant Vice President Thermal Plant Operation and Maintenance CG/ASC/
