DPR-50 & DPR-73 Docket Now. 50-289 and 50-320 Radiation Safety Training Course Your letter of October 2,1979 requested a response as to the acceptance of substituting a course in radiation safety presented by Oak Ridge Associated Universities as an equivalent to the basic radiation safety training course presented at Three Mile Island.
Met-Ed will accept the Oak Ridge Associated Universities training program as supplying the NRC personnel with basic education training. However, Met-Ed will require that NRC personnel who need unescorted access to non-radiation work permit (RWP) areas, inside the restricted area, receive the abbreviated training program dealing with site specific requirements, such as; emergency assembly areas, personnel safety, and security. NRC personnel w' o need unescorted access to RWP areas will be required to receive an additional four-hour training program dealing with such topics as; radiation work permit administration, on the job radiation control work responsibilities, and administrative exposure levels and bioassay requirements.
