Of this Big Rock !!uclear plant.
Wo bought this home three years ago, before the Thren 10ile incident. One year ago, I retired, and we've moved up here parmanently.
Thro' "onra ago we didn't fool throatened by this neighboring elec w.c plant.
Ilow, sinc c Big Rock has been closed down, we understcnd, from variou.= reports that have been released by peoplo that hnvo incpected this power plant, that the Inst shipment of spent fuel from Sic i ce!:
- uclear plant was in 1973.
If this report is correct, I don't think the Big Rock liuclear Plcnt should open again until a safo stor,,t;e placo, away from this area, if found for this highly toxic wanto.
At first, wo thought you, or someone in Washington, would find a safe way to ship these waste fuel rods to t,he Southwest New I.iexico salt beds, or some other safe place.
But, now we're hearing that no one want s this Nuclear garba50 That all the Nuclear wasto dumps have been shut-down.
So now we're being asked by Consumers Power Co., to continuo livin ;
down shorc from this pile of toxic wasto, while they continuo to add to the pila.
We don't undorstand what we're living by.
And nobody cisc, including you people of the 1;uclear Regulatory Cc= mission seem to understand the full meaning of that toxic spent fuel wasto that is building up there, out in the woods, along the shcro of Lake Icichigam Or, at least, if you, or anyono dcas know, they're not publicly explaining the meaning of this toxic wasto.
Wo, tha people that are living noar this nuclear fuel waste, nro now borzinnin6 to be very fonrful of this toxic nasto, and what it may do to curselves,.and our families.
I believo, that If you can't find safe storago for this. spent fuel, away from the Big Rock Plant, and away from Lako 1.lichigan, and doop in a salt mino, hopefully back in the Stato it was originally mined from, then you sh'ould no longer allow the Big Rock Uuclear Plant to function.
It's licenco should not be re-newed, and It should be closed down forover.
