In response to re f e rence (a ), the Quality Assurance Program related to the operation of the JASON'S radiographic facilities is contained in reference (b).

In section 12 of reference (b), entitled " Audits", the Type Commander is required to conduct annual inspections of maintenance activity proced--
ures to ensure compliance with all directives.
'Ihe same section requir-es maintenance activity com:nanding of ficers to establish an independent Quality Assurance Team to audit all procedures related to the safe oper-ation of the radiographic facilities.

In section 15 ot reference (b), entitled " Forms and Records", the main-tenance activity Quality Assurance Of ficer is required to audit, at least annually, all records and procedures governing the operation of the non-de-structive test (NDT) laboratory.
In addition, a copy of all reports init iated by NDT must be on file in the QA office.
4 In section 3 of reference (b), entitled " Organizational Responsibil-tries", the Quality Assurance ntfice is established independent of the radiogra; hic facilities, and the yaality Assurance Of ficer is required to r e po r t directly to the kepair Officer of the maintenance activity.
