NEBRASKA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT DOCKET NO. 50-298 COOPER NUCLEAR STATION AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE Amendment No. 56 License No. DPR 46 1.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has found that:
A.
The application for amendment by Nebraska Public Power District (the licensee) dated December 17, 1976, as supplemented, com-plies with'the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and tne Commission's rules and regulations set forth in 10 CFR Chapter I; B.
The facility will operate in conformity with the application, the provisions of the Act, and the rules and regulations of the Commission; C.
There is reasonable assurance (i) that ti.e activities authorized oy this amendment can be conducted without endangering the health and safety of the public, and (ii) that such activities will be conducted in compliance with the Commission's regulations; D.
The issuance of this amendment will not be inimical to the common defense and security or to the health and safety of the public; and E.
The issuance of this amendment is in accordance with 10 CFR Part 51 of the Commission's regulations and all applicable requirements have been satisfied.

Accordingly, Facility Operating License No. OPR-46 is hereby amended by. adding paragraph 2.C(4) to read as follows:
(4) Fire Protection The licensee may proceed with and is required to complete the modifications identified in Paragraphs 3.1 through 3.37 of the NRC's Fire Protection Safety Evaluation (SE), dated May 23, 1979.

. for the facility. These modifications will be completed prior to July 1, 1980.
In addition, the licensee shall submit the additional infor-mation in Table 3.1 of this SE in accordance with the schedule contained therein.
In the event these dates for submittal cannot be met, the licensee shall submit a report, explaining the circumstances, together with a revised schedule.
The licensee is required to implement the administrative controls identified in Section 6 of the SE.
The admini-strative controls shall be in effect by November 1,1979.

This license amendment is effective as of the date of its issuance.
