South Texas Project Units 1 6 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, 50-499 Second Interim Report on the Reportable Deficiency Concerning a Dimensional Error In the Base Slab of the Mechanical-Electrical Auxiliary Building for Unit 2 of the South Texas Project On October 31, 1978, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e), Houston Lighting and Power notified your office of a dimensional error in the base slab of the Unit 2 Mechanical-Electrical Auxiliary Building.
The letter indicated that a final report would be available in six months from that date. However, due to the extent of design review being performed, a final report will not be available by May 1,1979.
This letter provides a second interim report describing progress on the redesign of the building.
Redesign of the base mat has been completed and all drawings have been issued for construction. Structural Engineering has issued all walls for construction with holds on certain floor and wall sleeves.
Plans for the 10', 29' and 41' elevations have also been released.
Electrical has issued drawings for elevations 10', 29' and 41' for internal review. Plumbing has issued drawings of elevation 10' and 29' for construction.
Piping has issued composite piping diagrams for piping areas 18, 22 and 26 for internal review. No safety problems have been identified to date.
