Dear Mr. Denton:

This letter serves to inform you that the Long Island Lighting Company has invoked Ccde Case 1614 to ASME Section III which states that spray nozzles and spray nozzle attachment welds, if used, need not be hydrostatically tested including class 1, 2 and 3 piping systems which are spray systems. This change has been reviewed and approved by LILCO, by our engineering and installation agents and has been reviewed and will be approved by the independent code inspection agency, Hartford Steam Boiler Company.

This change will be incorporated into the appropriate design specifications and installation documentation.
