Re:
Haven. Nuclear Plant NRC Docket No. STN 50-502
Dear Mr. Hanley:
Your letter of March 30, 1979, to Mr. Luton requested clarification of his March 12 Order with respect to the dismissal of your Cctober 9, 1978, motion.
Jame Schaefer of your organization explained tr. me in a telephone call the other day that your concern stems from the fact that the caption of the Licensing Board's March 9, 1979, Order (shown as having been docketed on March 12), contained reference to two units for the Haven Nuclear Plant.
Applicants' are not applying for authorization for more than one unit at the Haven facility.
We noted in our October 24, 1978, answer to your motion that we had requested NRC to discontinue review of the second unit, and we enclosed a copy of Applicants' October 19 letter to the NRC to that effect.
I note in reviewing the record of the proceeding that Applicants and the NRC Staff have been captioning their filings in this proceeding with a single unit, under a single docket number, subsequent to responding to your motion last fall.
While I cannot speak for the Board, it 79000103(l

SHN#, PITTMAN, PCTTS & TROWBRIDGE Mr. William C. Hanley April 13, 1979 Page Two does not appear to be inappropriate that the Board's Order ruling on your motion should bear the two-unit caption, just as the filings of all three parties dealing with your motion were captioned in that manner.
In any event, I hope this will clear up any uncertainty you may have with respect to the status of the Haven appli-cation.
Sincerely yours,
/s Brtce W." Churchill BWC:cp cc:
