Dear Ir. Attorney General:
By letter dated January 15, 1979, the iiew England Pcwcr Compcny advised the Nuclear Raoulatory Comission that it isd transferred a E.gCC6 c"n-ership share of l;EP Units 1 T, 2 to itassachusetts ?*micipal 1 helesaic Electric Company (PJ:!EC). !!hile the Attorney General has not previously reviewed I:14!EC in connection with this application, i.e has pravicusly i
provided antitrust advice in this matter in a letter dated fpril 11, 1977.
w R11EC was recently reviewed by the Cepartment of Justice in cennecticn with its application for the Seabrook liuclear P9:er Station, Caits i 5 P.
The Department's advice veas contained in a letter dated Deceter 19,1I73.
It has been requested that in order to conduct the antitrust review fcr NEP Units 1 & 2, reference be raade to the antitrust information submitted in connection with the Seabrook Units.
In addition, for your information, we have also been advised that !*cinc Public Service Comeany will obtain 0.435% of MEP Units 1 & 2 and that Bangor liydro-Electric Company (Bangor) vill obtain an increase of 3.1%
of UEP Units 1 & 2.
MPS' sitare will be less than 20 Of and Cancer was previcusly reviewed in connection with this application (see Depcrtecnt of Justice letter dated Itarch 25,1976).
It is requested that you render such advice to the Comission as you detemine tc be appropriate in regard to the findings to be made by the Comission pursuant to Section 105(c) of the Atomic Energy /sct of 1954, i
