REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REVIEW 0F GRADE H-451 GRAPHITE GENERAL ATOMIC REPORT, GCP-5588 130. 2(b)
In your response to Question 130.2(b), you indicated that the seismic analysis of FSV H-327 reactor internals was conducted using a dynamic model and treating the core as a monolithic beam.
Since the reactor core is basically a three-dimensional structure and -can be subjected to multi-directional earthquakes, provide a discussion on the validity of using such a simplified mathematical model and procedure of analysis.
The discussion should be based on the state-of-the-art information available on the subject matter.
