Application Amendment License XSNM-203

Dear Mr. Oplinger:

By letter dated October 18, 1978, General Electric requested amendment of NRC License No. XSNM-203 to extend the expiration date and delete an export agent. That request is under review.

It is the purpose of this letter to request amendment also in the quantity of material authorized for export. A review of General Electric's fuel research and development programs has been recently completed.

It has been determined the originally licensed quantity substantially exceeds that required for the foreeable future.

Accordingly, General Electric additionally requests amendment of XSNM-203 to authorize not more than 2 kilograms of plutonium in 2.3 kilograms plutonium oxide and 180 kilograms natural uranium as uranium oxide in the chemical and physical form currently authorized.
