Docket tio. 50-322

Dear Mr. Like:

I take this opportunity to respond to two recent letters directed to me by your office. On January 4, 1979, you made certain requests regarding the County's new consultant, Energy Research Group, Inc. (ERG).

Regarding your request that E8G be placed on the service list for f4RC documents relative to Staff meetings with the Mark II Owners' Group and with LILCO, ERG has been added to the Staff's service list and should routinely receive such documents in the future.

You also requested that copies of previously issued documents in these categories be sent directly to ERG.

To 'ionor your request would require that the Staff search its files and collect the materials - a burdensome task. However, it should be pointed out that the County has been on the Staff's service list since its original petition seeking intervention was filed on March 17, 1977.

Since that time, the County has routinely received copies of the documents which you request.

Additionally, your prior consultants, MHB Technical Associates, were provided with copies of all Staff documents relative to the Mark II question.

This included not only meeting notices and summaries but all Staff reports and working papers. These documents were provided in the period January through March, 1978. Copies of the letters to MHB forwarding this material were sent to you. Although these documents were provided to MHB on a loan basis, the Staff would not object if MHB provided to ERG whatever documents ERG considered necessary for its work with the continued understanding that such documents are provided on a loan basis.

Also by letter of January 11, 1979 from Mr. Richard Hand of your office, copies of certain Staff correspondence and attachments were requested to be forwarded to ERG.

Please be advised that on January 17, 1979, additional copies of these documents were served upon your office by Mr. Bordenick 790205COM
