PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION February 22, 1979 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-13 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

B0MB THREAT A bomb threat was received by. telephone at the General Hospital, San Luis Obispo, California, at 10:35 a.m., 2/21/79.
The female caller said, "You better get a bunch of beds ready. A bomb is going to go off shortly at Diablo." She then hung up.
The licensee searched the turbine building with negative results.
Contractors were advised. An estimate of under 50 contractor employees lef t the site.
Media interest is not expected by the licensee and no press release is planned.
NRC Region V (San Francisco) received telephone notification of the bomb threat from the licensee at 1:30 p.m. PST, 2/21/79.
The State of California has been notified.
The I AT was notified.
