c PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-79-78 This oreliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or puolic interest sionificance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

SUBJECT:
BOMB THREAT At 12:30 a.m. on July 25, 1979, a bomb threat was received by the GSU security guard on main gate at the River Bend site.
A male voice stated "At 2 o' clock there is a bomb."
Plant mahagement was notified and a search of principal buildings was conducted.
No bomb was found.

The FBI (Baton Rouge) was notified during afternoon of July.'5 1979.
The Baton Rouge ATF Bureau was notified by RIV.
RIV (Arlington, Texas) received preliminary notification at 2:20 p.m., July 25, 1979, by the on site QA Manager.
No press release was made or planned by the licensee or NRC.
Media interest is not expected.
The IAT has been notified.
The site construction progress is currently 5% complete.
There is no fuel on site.
