Standard Technical Specirication Fire Protection

2) P-79072

Dear Mr. Kuzmycz:

Your letter of May 3 (Reference 1) indicated the necessity of apply-ing the Standard Technical Specification on Fire Protection (STSFP) to our existing Technical Specification. Your letter provided a choice of revising our Technical Specification in our own format to meet the intent of STSFP or referencing appropriate sections of maintenance, surveillance or operating procedures.

We have reviewed the STSFP, and have elected to revise the Technical Specification in our own format rather than reference other existing pro-cedures.

The cvaluation is progressing, and we would anticipate comple-tion of draft Technical Specifications some time in late July. Allowing some time for necessary reviews and approval by the PORC and the NFSC, we would anticipate a formal submittal for the Technical Specification changes by mid August 1979. This schedule should provide adequate margin and time to work with and test the revised Technical Specification prior to reaching the 100% power restriction delineated in your letter of May 3.

Very truly yours, h l%cd Don Warembourg f'
