I find it frightening, in view of the oil shortage we have facing us, that the NRC would shut down five

nuclear power plants on such preliminary findings con-cerriihg~theifTafetyT ' The economic consequencer for Maine, as well as the power shortages which are likely to result from this shutdown, are extremely serio us.

Because of their already very low risk potent'al, I respectfully urge you to consider putting these plants back on line while the study is being made to detertrine whether additional safeguards are necessary to further reduce any likelihood of failure.
