EVALUATION OF BAW-10039P, SUPPLEMENT 1 We have completed our evaluation of Babcock & Wilcox Topical Report BAW-10039P, Supplement 1, " Prototype Vibration Measurement Results for B&W's 177-FA, Two-Loop Plant." We determined that the subject report meets the requirements of Regulatory Guide 1.20, " Comprehensive Vibration Assessment Program for Reactor Internals During Preoperational and Initial Startup Testing." Therefore, BAW-10039P, Supplement 1, is acceptable for reference to describe the results of the vibration qualification program conducted for the redesigned surveillance specimen holder tube for B&W 177-FA plants.
In our letter of September 16, 1977, we approved your request to withhold BAW-10039P, Supplement 1, from public inspection pursuant to 10 CFR Part 2.790.
If our criteria or regulations change, such that our conclusions concerning BAW-10039P, Supplement 1, are invalidated, we will notify you and provide you with an opportunity to revise and, if you desire, resubmit this report for our review.
We request, that within three months, you issue a revised version of BAW-10039P, Supplement 1, and a non-proprietary version incorporating this letter and your responses to our nequests for additional information.
