Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. J. E. Hiatt and
D.
E. Miller of this office on December 5-7, 1978, of activities
at the University of Missouri Research Reactor authorized by NRC
Operating License No. R-103 and to the discussion of our findings
with you and members of the facility staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined
during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted
of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
observations, and interviews with personnel.
No iters of noncompliance with NRC requirerents were identified
during the course of this inspection.
Based on discussions with your representatives at the site, vc
understand that you will calculate the amount of tritiur being
released f rom the secondary system to the sanitary sewer during
blowdown of the secondary systen.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice,"
Part 2, T4 "
