With respect to your concara regarding the constructica of dikes c
in the rivers the Metropolitaa Edises Company's application states that a dika vill be constructed around the northern and of Three Kile Island to protaet the proposed plant from f1NHli.23. The substantive regulatory jurisdictics of the AEC under the present Law with respect ts the construction of dikas is limited essentially to the effect of such constructies on the radiological health and safety of the publia and the acummon dsfense and security. Since the possible effect of the proposed dika on op. river flooding does not involve a matter within the jurisdiction of the AEC, we are without authority to consider the matter.
