COMBINED INSPECTION NOS. 50-272/81-17 AND 50-311/81-16 INSPECTION DATE JUNE 22-26, 1981 SALEM UNITS 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 We have reviewed the report of the security inspection conducted June 22-26, 1981, which was transmitted with your letter dated September 11, 1981 and received on September 17, 1981.
Our response to the items of non-compliance in Appendix A of the Inspection Report are contained in Attachment 1 to this letter.
Corrective action has been initiated and full compliance will be achieved by October 31, 1981.
You will note that this response is dated 10/13/81, two days after the required response date, which fell on a holiday weekend.
The fact that the response would be so dated was discussed and concurred with Mr.
E.
G.
Greenman of USNRC Region I.
The information contained in Attachment 1 to this letter identifies security measures for the physical protection of Salem Generating Station, and should be withheld from public disclosure in accord-ance with the provisions of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Rules and Regulations, 10CFR2.790 (d).
