Dear Sir:

The HFIR Project of Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) is not a user of a " General license for shipment in DOT specification containers, in packages approved for use by another person, and in packages approved by a foreign national competent authority" as defined in 10 CFR Part 71.12.

As such, TI requests that the " Quality Assurance Plan for Shipping Packages for Radioactive Materials" (submitted August 7, 1978, and your letter of reply dated April 27, 1979) be withdrawn from application.

Sincerely,

FLL,

~

F.L.
