TUGCO'S MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME On February 23, 1979, Central Power and Light Company served by mail its interrogatories and request for production of documents on TUGCO, et al. Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. S2.741 and S2.711, TUGCO herein moves for an extension of time to and including March 28, 1979 within which to respond, object or otherwise plead with respect to these interrogatories and request for production of documents.

The effect of the requested extension will be to render coincident the due dates for responding to interrogatories and for producing documents. The extension for responding to interrogatories is requested because many of the requests will be '

7904170083-

quite time consuming and appear to involve the location and review of a large number of documents. Moreover the date on which responses to interrogatories would otherwise be due (i . e . ,

March 14, 1979) completely overlaps the time within which responses to interrogatories and document requests of the Public Utilities Board of the City of Brownsville are due. Accordingly, the time _

routinely permitted by NRC Regulations is not sufficient for responses or pleadings with re'spect to these interrogatories and the extension is warranted.

Counsel for Central Power and Light Company has been advised of this request and has indicated y ectfully submitted, ,
